Description: old beautiful mantel clock with very nice detailed wooden case, has nice inlays on each side, the bezel is in great condition and so is the hinge, the movement is solid as shown in photographs, the original key comes with it. This clock was professionally cleaned and overhauled in 1983, worked great when I got her back and was in a dust free environment since then and I didn’t run her. Overall height measures 12-1/2”, 10-1/2” wide and about 5” deep. The crossed arrows, trademark of the Hamburg American Clock Company. HAC was formed in Germany in 1873 by Paul Landenberger and Phillip Lang. In 1892 they changed their trademark from the steamship to the crossed arrows, at which time the company had aspirations toward the sale of finished clocks to the export market particularly to Great Britain and North America. The company was a major producer of clocks in Germany, with 1300 employees in 1910. In 1926 the company went into a cooperative with Junghans and in 1930 they finally merged with Junghans. A true antique in beautiful condition looking for a new home. Thank you.
