When the Mountain Pass Canning Company was established by A.C. Powell in New Mexico on his original 7 acre farm. The company was one of the first to can tomatoes, but it also produced pinto beans, corn, chle and alfalfa. Today, Old El Paso is sold in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The company has a plant in San Adrian, Spain, located in the province of Navarre, Northern Spain, which manufactures all their products for Europe.
