Description: Up for bid is a fine quality pair of vintage Indian silver umbrella or palm-tree form candlesticks with dangles, age unknown. The pieces are about 5 5/8 inches tall by 3 ½ inches in diameter and together weigh 376 grams. The blossom-shaped cups at the top have pricket spikes and accommodate a 1 5/8 inch diameter candle. The parasol tops are nicely chased and pierced with scrolls. The edges have 6 dangling bells on chains. The bells are gold colored, possibly brass. They have spiral-patterned stems and high chased repousse feet. There are no marks; they do test as silver. NOTE: I am selling a large accumulation of Indian silver, some Hindu and some secular. Some pieces appear to be quite old, others seem newer. I am not an expert on Hindu practices or traditions; any errors in the descriptions are unintentional. Condition on the candlesticks is fairly good. There are some bends to the edge and pricket on one cup, but otherwise just normal signs of use. Some fine pieces of Indian silver.
