The condition of this delightful vintage hard covered books is good for its age. Really it is a beautiful book!!!! The front cover has a color paste down with a small white line. The green boards have gilt lettering as does the spine cover. You will find light wear to the corners, spine ends, edges. It was noted that part of the first title page as part of it has been cut away. The black and white drawings are outstanding. Also throughout the book there are lovely color pictures that were pasted in at the top only, some of the glue has dried but all of the pictures are with the book. They would be so easy to frame!!!! The paper used in this text is of a very good card stock. The 200 pages and text blocks have tanning due to age. The binding is fair, a bit loose and all pages are in place. Gutter tears were noted just inside both of the covers. What a wonderful children’s book of 11 charming stories. They were originally written in French in the seventeenth century. Just a few are: The Sleeping Beauty In the Wood, Little Tom Thumb, Little Red Riding Hood and Princess Rosette. What a gem of a book!!!!! It would be wonderful for anyone’s library!!!
