Description: Ultra classy, 34mm, midcentury Omega watch. My calipers measure 33.7.This is what's referred to as a domestic model, with a case made by the Star Company (Omega and many other companies used to case a lot of their watches in the US for tax purposes). It's virtually identical to its Seamaster-signed counterparts, but lacks the text on the dial. It's either rolled gold, gold filled, or gold plated- I'm not sure as there's no specification on/in the case back. The gold is not wearing through and could absolutely be lightly polished for a like-new look, if you're into that (the case back has definitely been polished). The case back screws in, but lacks a gasket; I don't know if these watches normally have them, but the crown is the usual push-pull type, anyway, so swimming is obviously a no-go. As evidenced by the markings inside the case back, the cal. 420 has been regularly serviced throughout its life, though I haven't had it serviced myself because it doesn't need it. It keeps time (I don't time vintage watches to the second, especially ones that don't hack) and the power reserve is over 48 hours. I wound it fully the day before yesterday at 7:55pm, and it's still going about 50 hours later. The dial is...awesome, to my eyes. I'm not always a "patina" fan, but I find this one really pleasing. It will come on the pictured, new, USA-made leather strap.
