Description: Omtec Audio (Germany) CA-60 Monoblock power amps class A or A/B switchable. Omtec CA-60 monoblock amplifiers, made in Germany. Omtec is now out of business, and their WEB site is down, thus almost no information is available on the Internet. According to Omtec info, these monoblocks in pure class A produce 60 Watts at 8 Ohms and 120 Watts at 4 Ohms load – By a click of one toggle switch, they can be switched to class AB – to produce 200 Watts at 8 Ohms, and 250 Watts at 4 Ohms. I have had these monoblocks for 12 years since new (bought from SORA Sound who was a distribitor back then) During this time, I had used and tried at least a dozen of different amplifiers, monoblocks and stereo amps. The ONLY amplifiers better than these Omtecs are the huge Kraft 400 monoblocks (nearly 300 lbs each) – but the Krafts are much more expensive, incomparably more expensive. As for the rest of the solid state amps – absolutely none sound better. Send me a message if you're interested.
