Description: Last one, refurbished wood Maple doorknob. All have been stripped of paint and refinished with clear coat enamel. Knobs are the same size, shape, and have the same style bases (about 1/2" stem). I'm definitely not a connoisseur of wood so don't rely on my observation. My guess is that the wood is maple, a lighter wood than oak in color but still very hard, tight grained and long wearing. Great replacement knob in good condition for its age. Knob is tight to the stem and wood shows little or no wear or abuse. Only blemish is some discoloration in spots to age Dating on this is probably late 1800's. The heyday of wooden knobs was the late 1800's to about 1910. Please use pictures to verify that style and condition are what you want. U-9
