Lovely, graceful star of Hollywood films of the 1950s and 1960s, Audrey Hepburn (1929-93) appeared in nearly thirty movies, often starring in romantic comedies and thrillers, like Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Wait Until Dark, but also venturing into several dramatic roles as well. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Audrey Hepburn brought attention to humanitarian causes through her work as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. In 1992, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom; in 1993, she received a Life Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild; and that same year she was posthumously awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, an honorary Academy Award.
