Description: ONE MORE SPRING by Robert Nathan. New York, Alfred A. Knopf, 1933. 1st Edition (stated). Vintage Hardcover with TWO (2) Dustjackets. Book: Lime green cloth with brown titling on spine and decorative design on front. Boards show light soil, a few spots; tip and tail of spine are wrinkled, soiled, and a bit frayed. Back has a small publisher logo in lower corner. Hinges and binding square and tight, no loose pages. Borzoi running dog endpapers are clean no marks. Inside back cover has a small bookseller's sticker. Text pages clean, no marks, no damaged pages seen. The two dustjackets have different illustrations on front, identical text on flaps except one has a printed $2.00 price; the other a penciled price (see photos). The jackets appear to be vintage with light edgewear, small chips and tears at edge, worn in the same place as each other and as the cloth boards. The paper of each is tanned inside. 5.5" x 7.75" 212 p. Nathan (1884-1985) was a novelist, poet, and screenwriter best known for "Portrait of Jennie" (1939). "One More Spring", Nathan's 10th novel (of about 40), is a Depression-era story of two penniless friends who take shelter in a toolshed and later provide shelter to an idealistic prostitute who had tried to drown herself in the lake (full story on the dj flap). The popular book was filmed in 1935 starring Janet Gaynor, Warner Baxter and Walter Woolf King.
