Description: OOAK Handmade Natural Stone, Wood, Fur, Rawhide, Leather and Horsehair Bird Effigy Peace Pipe measuring approximately 23 Inches in length. The hand carved bird head effigy measures approximately 4 3/8 x 2 x 1 1/2 Inches and is attached to a wood stem with bark intact. I don't know what kind of wood it is I tried to google it but came up with nothing. It is very interesting with almost thorn like markings, but they are not thorns. The pipe stem is wrapped with some kind of natural fur, rawhide and leather with an attached braided leather hanger, attached bead elements and horsehair. The pipe end is the same stone as the bird measuring approximately 3 1/4 x 1 inch. Since it is unsigned the maker is unknown. A great piece for any lover of Native American display artwork. For display only not smokable! My father and my husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their wives, sweethearts, moms and family members upon their return from Europe after WWII.
