Description: Vintage 1941 Board Game Flying the Beam A game by Captain William J. Chapman by Parker Brothers, Inc. This is the War edition that used the composite planes instead of the metal ones. Complete with smaller box, game board, Spinner, instructions, and 4 composite (rubber?) planes. The object of the game is to land safely at the Airport. The first player to do so wins the game. Condition: The game board looks good overall. There is a bit of edge wear, particularly one corner the edge tape sticks out a bit (a spot of glue would help alot). The board color is bright, and the label on the outside is as well. The blue outside boards show no warping, or staining. There is a 1.5" area on the unlabeled side at bottom of sun fading (see photo). The front side with label looks great. The planes are hard from age, but show no damages to wings or tails. Very hard to find in this condition. The spinner looks good, no damages. The instructions have a bit of brown staining at top.The exterior of the box has staining to backside from moisture, and front side shows some age related dirt. All corners are intact, no tears. No evil smells, and no pencil or pen markings. A great addition to a vintage game collection, and a hard to find example of the war time edition.
