Description: Original Analog Recordings - The Godfather Of Glam: Korla Pandit - Autographed Original Analog Recordings - The Godfather Of Glam: Korla Pandit - Autographed Description Offered, as one lot, are 2 different LP releases by the talented musician and entertainer Korla Pandit. Born John Roland Redd in 1921, Korla Pandit is perhaps best known as The Godfather Of Exotica. Less well known is that he invented the earliest form of the Glam Genre, long before its adaptation by the Rock Metal Bands. Glam is performance / costume art with music, and the inventive Korla (or should we say John) had a simple and highly entertaining presentation. His wife Beryl helped him create the persona of an Indian Mystic, with costumes, make-up and an elaborate history to combine with the Exotica music played on his Novachord and Hammond CV electronic organs. Wikipedia notes that as an important part of over 900 recorded performances - Korla would not speak - rather, he would communicate with his audience through a "hypnotic gaze." It is our good fortune that, while not speaking, on occasion, he would write - and our first offered release (#1 below) bears his autograph from 1971 (please see our Photo Gallery). Our second offered release is most fittingly on the Fantasy Label in Blue Translucent Vinyl. Korla Pandit has the unique distinction of being not just one - but two Godfathers Of Recorded Music. Do have a look at his biographical sketch in Wikipedia. It is just as entertaining and interesting as Korla's performances. When you go to the Wikipedia site, copy and paste Korla Pandit into the search box. ------------------------- THE VINYL : EXCELLENT + EX+ : Both LPs are in the same fine condition. Lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear, all four sides of these two LPs retain all of their original gloss. Bright, undamaged Labels (please see photos). Please Note that the Side B label on 8049 has a name written lightly in ink. Evident are some light marks, including sleevewear from the original paper inner sleeves, and a few shallow hairlines. There are no deep marks, and the tracks play cleanly with no skipping or sticking. These records have been carefully handled and infrequently played. THE COVERS : Please see our Photo Gallery 500 Series Volume 3 is about Very Good + with fraying along the edges. The autograph is is fine shape. 8049 is quite close to Near Mint, with a name lightly written on the back cover.
