Description: Original Betty Compton Ziegfeld Follies Publicity Photo. 7 7/8th " x 9 3/4 " Photo by Charles Snyder of Boston. Matte finish. Compton was a member of the ZIEGFELD FOLLIES in the 1920's. She made two films during her career in the 1930s, so there are few photos available of her. She later married New York City Mayor Jimmy Walker in 1933. This portrait was in the scrapbooks of Mary Ann Walker, Compton's adopted daughter. There is a slight crease and tear on lower right corner border - see photo. The image, however, is in good condition. Photographer's imprint is an embossing on lower right.
