Description: Original circa 1950's to 1960's Japan Tourist Association Geisha travel poster printed in Japan by Mitsumura and used in English speaking countries to promote travel to Japan. Approximate poster dimensions are 39.5"h x 24.5"w. The appearance of the poster is in very good over-all condition. There are no stains or areas of discoloration. The colors in the poster have been well preserved and are fresh in appearance due to having been rolled up for many years. Condition issues include loss on the left side edge of the border, tack holes on corners and a 1" tear on the edge of the bottom border. This poster is an original poster of the period and is not a later copy, is not a re-issue and is not a reproduction. This poster has never been offered for sale before this time having been part of a collection put together quite a long time ago. This poster is in the condition as it was found unmounted and unbacked having been stored away for many years. I have not repaired, restored or tampered with the poster in any way. On some computer monitors the images seen in the listing may appear to show the colors of the poster to be muted or there may be a shine seen which is a reflection from either the camera flash or light but in actuality the colors of the poster are of even tonality. For ultimate protection a preservation sheet of transparent neutral ph glassine will be rolled together with the poster, placed within a wrapped plastic bag for extra protection and sent within a high quality exceptionally durable Yazoo Mills shipping tube.
