Description: Beautiful limited edition lithograph published by Maeght by the legendary American abstract expressionist painter SAM FRANCIS. It was published in 1972, as part of the Fresh Air School portfolio, which also included works by Walasse Ting and Joan Mitchell. The print is in great condition with no rips holes or tears. This original lithograph measures 15 by 22 inches and is fully referenced in the catalogue raisonne of the prints of Sam Francis. (Lembark). In 1972, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania exhibited paintings of Sam Francis, Joan Mitchell and Walasse Ting together in one show entitled Fresh Air School, and this print and the portfolio it came from originally was published as a fundraiser in conjunction with the exhibition in an edition of approximately 1000. The prints are unsigned and unnumbered, so the exact edition number is not known. This unsigned, authentic limited edition lithograph is sold folded, as all the lithographs were folded as part of the portfolio, but will frame out beautifully. It is quite a dazzling Sam Francis lithograph from a most desirable era the early 19702. Please let me know if you have any questions, I am posting more artworks from my extensive 30 year collection.
