Original Vintage NWA AWA Champion Wrestler Verne Gagne 8 x 10 Photo

Description: This is for an original 8 x 10 vintage photo of Hall of Fame wrestler Verne Gagne. For those that don’t know, Verne was much more than a professional wrestler. He was a 2 time NCAA wrestling champion, was named All Big Ten in football for the University of Minnesota, was part of the Navy Underwater Demolition Team and turned down a chance to wrestle in the 1948 Olympics. Like Jim Thorpe before him, Verne had wrestled once at a carnival and won some money which would have put his amateur status in jeopardy. This is a nice vintage 8 x 10 of Verne which almost looks like a large exhibit card with his name printed at the bottom left. It has a couple of small tack holes and a very slight edge tear on the right hand side. A great souvenir you could have picked up at a wrestling match or by ordering from a wrestling magazine back in the day. Check out the scan and email with any questions.
