In 1983, the World Ski Jumping Championship was held on March 17-20 in the then Czechoslovak Harrachov on the local mammoth bridge named Certak. The first one was Klaus Ostwald from East Germany, the second place took Czechoslovak racer Pavel Ploc and the third place belonged to Matti Nykanen from Finnland (Wiki).
