This medal depicts a Germanic warrior on the front wielding a spear and shield. On the reverse of the medal is the year “1916” and the inscription “To the winner of the War Ministry competitions 1916”. This award was more than likely given to the winner of a sporting competition during the First World War. Absolutely beautiful and in fantastic condition.
