Description: ORIG'L & VERY GOOD+/NEAR MINT Officer's Uniform Items Clothing Bag SALE PRICED! Click images to enlarge Description ?This is an ORIGINAL uniform clothing bag as issued to and used by officers of the US Army during WWII. I acquired this bag back on May 29, 1991 from the late, great Manion's International Auction. The bag is made of brown gabardine twill fabric and is comparable in size to today's clothing bags. It has a functioning side zipper (no manufacturer's name on pull) and an opening at the top for the hangers to protrude. The bag is in VERY GOOD+/NEAR MINT condition. The only blemish is a small 2-3" repair to the top seam near the hole through which the hangers protrude (see last image above). The officer whose bag this was has stamped his name ("A.W. Carter") numerous times on the exterior of the bag. The officer and the provenance of the bag may be researchable through Ancestry.com or one of the veterans search services online. Here's an opportunity for the collector or re-enactor to obtain a period clothing bag for the collection or barracks impression during events.
