Description: Presented is a charming English Victorian sterling silver creamer, dated 1880 and made by Charles Stuart Harris. The creamer is made in an ornate style, with vertical fluting adorning the lower body and a band of fanciful floral and foliate scrollwork beneath the rim. The creamer stands on a round pedestal foot, and has a double scroll handle. The front, beneath the spout, has a scroll-enclosed cartouche, which has never been monogrammed. This piece is in good overall condition. There are some dings and slight waviness around the upper edge, and an old repair to the handle which is hard to notice without close inspection. No splits, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no other repairs. This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter E for 1880, the duty stamp of Queen Victoria's head, and a partially rubbed maker's mark, legible enough to identify Charles Stuart Harris. There are also very small French touchmarks/import marks, beneath the upper rim and on the foot rim. This creamer stands about 4 inches tall at the top of the handle. This piece weighs 74 grams or 2.6 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
