Description: This listing is for a rare vintage Orvis SSS Anti-Reverse 7-8 fly reel spool. The spool is loaded with a sink tip style fly line and the label on the inside of the spool says WF-8-F/S which matches the appearance. I can't guarantee that the line matches the sticker, but it looks to be matching and the line appears to be in good condition. The dark brown sink tip section is approximately 14 feet long. I looked the spool over carefully and can't find any rim rash or chips The only mark I can find is a tiny rub on the inside rim shown in the fifth picture. It's really almost perfect! Orvis sold at least three versions of SSS reel made by STH in Argentina. Shown is the corresponding page from a 1988 Orvis catalog that shows information on the SSS reels (catalog not included in the listing). I believe this spool is for the 7-8 size anti-reverse reel. Please look carefully at the pictures for dimensions and don't hesitate to ask questions if you are uncertain if this is the correct spool for your reel. INVS1 is an inventory number for my internal use. I have two of these spools listed that are nearly identical apart from the length of sink tip section.
