Description: A mono first pressing of Otis Redding's 1967 album Live in Europe, from the legendary collection of Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. Bill Wyman is legendary as a musician, a blues historian, an author and for his world-class collection of Rolling Stones memorabilia. This album was sold by him in the Bill Wyman and his Rolling Stones Archive sale at Julien’s Auctions (if you haven’t already seen the Wyman documentary The Quiet One, we enthusiastically recommend it.) The Julien's Auction descriptive card, a copy of which is included, notes The Rolling Stones were great admirers of Redding and covered a number of his songs including "Pain in My Heart" on their 1965 album The Rolling Stones, Now! They followed this with a cover of "That's How Strong My Love Is" on their 1965 Out of Our Heads album. They also recorded a version of Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" that was released on their 1966 Got Live If you Want It! album with added crowd atmosphere to make it sound as though it had been performed live. Redding borrowed from the Stones as well when he had a big hit with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". A live version of "Satisfaction" is included on this album. Cover: VG++, Disc NM-/EX With a copy of the original Julien’s Auctions descriptive card for Wyman’s group of Redding's albums, which included this, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, signed by Jeff Gold, who has consulted for Bill Wyman. Ebay doesn't allow links but we suggest searching for Recordmecca owner Jeff Gold's blog post: Why I collect beat-up records owned by Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and members of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground and Grateful DeadWe grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked. Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition. See our other listings for more from this fantastic collection.
