Description: Oxford Book of Common Prayer BCP 1979 Compact Episcopal 7402 This is a black compact edition of the pre-Revised Common Lectionary Book of Common Prayer. It is bonded/imitation leather, but should be quite flexible. Because I am an avid collector of BCPs, I know that the typeface is very pleasant. The paper quality is consistently superior with increased opacity. The certification year should be 1990, though it may be 1979. It’s in nearly like new condition, with the ribbons still in their original factory placement. These older editions have much higher quality than the current Oxford print runs. While this does have slightly less opacity than some editions, this particular edition nearly lays flat at MP and should do so even more perfectly with usage. Remarkable to find one in this condition, and with original box. The font size and typeface is my much larger than one finds in modern editions.
