Description: For sale is a pair of the 1864 & 1865 Indian Head Cents. Indian Head Cents were minted between 1859 to 1909 before being replaced by the Lincoln Wheat Cent. Both of these are key dates in the series because of their low mintage numbers. In 1864 they minted two varieties of the Indian Head Cent--one made of copper-nickel and the other made of bronze, which replaced the previous version and is what all remaining years of the Indian Head Cents were made out of. The 1864 in this pair is the bronze variety. The 1865 is a tough coin to get in its own rite.As you can see from the pics the coins are in well-circulated, but still good shape, and they would both come in at AG grades. The lettering and dates are faded at some points but still present. Neither coin has any major damage and has not been cleaned. This is a great pair of Civil War era key date coins that are must-haves for any Indian Head Cent collection at such a low price. Thanks!
