Description: Pair of Antique 1830s Porcelaine de Choisy French Blue Transferware Story Plates made by H. Boulenger & CieThese two plates are from a series on Courtship - No 15 "Le Retour du Dessinateur"& No 17 "Les Reproches" Beautiful blue transferware in center with raised molded creamy white floral & leaf border and navy thin lines. The mark, "1/2 Porcelaine de Choisy 1/2" was used from 1836 and denoted a clay with more kaolin which made a harder, less porous body. The plates are 8 1/4" in diameter.
