Description: Paper Mache Mask Nepal 12" Black Face Hindu God Kali [Repaired] VTG circa 1972~3 This offer is for a repaired black face wall mask presumed to be the Hindu goddess Kali. Item measures 12" tall x 8" wide x 3.5" deep. Assumed to have been made between 1972-73 (was brought back from Vietnam during my dad's military tour so at least that old) Recently rediscovered while settling my mother's estate. The nose and chin were crushed and pieces of edge were missing. Rather than toss it, I repaired it and gave it a new coat of paint to fixed areas to conceal the mend. Most of original paint left as found - only black and red with a few spots of yellow were retouched. If purchasing a vintage item that is not in mint condition bothers you, please pass on this offer. However if you appreciate handmade cultural items, this may be a great find.Interior is off white - Paper Mache with no coating.Nylon line loop for wall hanging. Third Eye in forehead is open.Measures about 12" tall ... 8" wide and 3.5" from back to nose Paper Mache varies from about 1/8" to 3/8" thick. Condition is pre-owned and has been REPAIRED.
