Description: Here's a PARKER BLUE DIAMOND STRIPED DUOFOLD SR with a third quarter 1944 date mark. This pen is 5-3/8" long and vacuum filler with a no-tassie blind cap. Gold filled trim is excellent and the cap has a 5/32" cap band with engraved oblique line groups. Plastic is in excellent condition and the gold filled trim in intact. The blue in the diamond is complete. Vacuum filler with need a new diaphragm before it will take up ink. PARKER DUOFOLD imprint and date is bold. Section and feed are flawless. The nib is the slightly different arrow nib that I've only seen used on these Striped Duofolds, both two-tone and mono-colored, and this is a single gold colored example. The design is a two line chevron pointing downward and enclosing the breather. The nib is 14kt and marked PARKER, PEN, MADE IN USA. It is fine point and nail-like. The right tine is very straight, but the left tine is curved inward slightly and abuts the right tine, leaving a slight gap below the contact point. I imagine the tine could be straightened, but I've dipped and written a little with the pen. It's not scratchy and seems to write okay, Iridium is good on both tines.
