Description: Scandinavian jet black and clear art glass vase designed by Paul Kedelv in 1959 (bottom dated) . Made by Reijmyre of Sweden. Online sources that although Keldelv is most commonly attributed to Flysfors, Kedelv came to Reijmyre in 1955, and hade designs with both companies. The bottom is marked "R-e", which is how Reijmyre marked their glass at that time period, and the date 1959. The "K-31" refers to a design or production number as can be seen by the catalogue page in last pic which confirms it is his design. It is not signed by Kedelv, since only Flygsfors produced with the actual signature. This vase is part of his Harlequin range, often mistaken for his Coquille design made at the Flygsfors glass making. Although only 8" tall, it is one of the more unique and taller items than the many bowls in this series. Paul Kedelv (1917ā1990) was one of Sweden's leading glass artists of the 20th century. He is most known for his design for the Flygsfors and Reijmyre glassworks in the 1950sā1970s. Paul's artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. This is a rare Harlequin design. I cannot find another one of this design anywhere online. NOTE: This description is a result of hours of research online thru auction and other sites. Please have a familiarity with Scandinavian glass and Paul Kedelv and base your purchase on your own knowledge and comfort level.
