The "H" version was first introduced in the early 60s and shared the same internals as the Penn 500. The 112H stayed in production until 2009. At that point, the "H2" models came into play when Penn Sold Out to the largest fishing conglomerate in the world and moved most of Penn's manufacturing to China. Several aftermarket parts are available from multiple companies for a reason. The 112H is one of Penn's most versatile reels. This reel was just serviced by the best Reel Service Tech in Orange County, California. He installed Carbon Drags and re-greased every moving part with the appropriate grease thickness required. He also shimmed the gear sleeve to alleviate the handle from moving back and forth, resulting in a much smoother retrieve. I added the frame, the handle & knob, the e-lever, and the rod clamp & hardware. There is very little boat rash on this reel, mostly on the chrome parts. This reel also has a great freespool and a nice loud clicker. It really is amazing that good ole Penn reels can transform into reels like this one, and people have been doing it for years.
