I have been a big fan of Ultra Lite Penn 716, 714 and 420SS reels. I primarily use 2 and 4 lb. test mono for these reels. Usually, it works great but over time the Teflon washer gets warped or gouged and the drag is not smooth. I often wondered why Penn never offered HT-100 drag washers for these reels? These reels are long since discontinued. So, I decided to make (I machine my own) some Carbontex equivalent, and WOW was I surprised. Smooth as silk.
