Bishop Earl Parchia Sr. In the Summer of 1951, God led (the newly discharged Army Sergeant) Earl Parchia, Sr. into the pastoral ministry. As a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Chicago, IL., he sought the counsel of his pastor, (then) Dist. Elder John Silas Holly, who later became Bishop of the State of Illinois. He desired that his pastor would sanction this move and new spiritual endeavor. As God dealt with him about this transition, so did others. Although he was discouraged from seeking the pastorate of the small Milwaukee Apostolic Mission Church, his resolve was evident: HE HEARD FROM THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. And at the request of the nine parishioners, Elder Earl Parchia became their pastor. By his side, was his new bride (formerly Cora Louise Johnson) of only one year. She unselfishly obliged, and stood by him for over 60 years as he led the congregation into deeper depths and unchartered waters in the City of Milwaukee. With her educational background and capable organizational skills, she rallied with him to harness and build a spiritual dynasty. As a builder, he had vision where others were blinded and said it couldn’t be done. A preacher of the gospel, he traveled to continents, many nations, and countries others feared to go. His wisdom was unparalleled and was considered by some as the “Solomon” of his generation. Under Bishop’s tutelage and leadership, the congregation launched a building fund drive to construct a “Temple.” In 1977, Mt. Zion purchased land, which included an office building on the property. This building would serve as our “edifice” until the sanctuary was completed. In 1978, the “Healing Temple” was erected, completed and its dedication was celebrated. To the delight and surges of many, the property valued at almost $2 million, and was paid within 10 short years. We celebrated the burning of the mortgage as the late Bishop Arthur Brazier (Chicago, IL) officiated the ceremony. In 1997, one of his visions was realized when he financially and morally supported the genesis of Mt. Zion Christian Academy. It blossomed, grew and was later named, Early View Academy of Excellence (EVAE). The K4-12th grade school now serves more than 450 scholars and has been heralded a “Premier Education Institution” by many across the country. Bishop Dr. Earl Parchia, Sr. was a dutiful pastor, teacher, mentor, author, husband and father until the Lord summoned him home on September 28, 2010. His vision continued to prosper, even a his wife of over 60 years, has now joined him in Paradise. She indeed was a pillar who held on to God’s unchanging hand until her last breath on March 1, 2016. The Mantle and Anointing to Pastor is now resting upon his youngest daughter, Monica. As we welcome and celebrate this new chapter in Mt. Zion’s history, we are confident of a bright future because our foundation is firm and solid. Their legacy is now actualized as a memorial and testament of their works. Over the course of these 65 years, many souls have been saved, fed (spiritually and naturally), delivered and healed. Mt. Zion has also been the launching pad for many ministries, churches, businesses and dreams. “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. —Rev. 14:13 Associated terms/ file under Apostolic Oneness, Oneness Apostolic, Jesus Only, Jesus Name, Oneness Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, Azusa Street, United Pentecostal Church, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, ALJC, Oneness of God, Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship, Apostolic Pentecostals, Bible Way Church of our Lord Jesus Christ Wordwide, Assemblies of the Church of Jesus Christ, Jesus Only Apostolic Church of God, Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Oneness Pentecostalism, Apostolic Church of Pentecost, Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, The Way Of The Cross Church Of Christ Inc, Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Baptism in Jesus Name, Jesus Name Baptism, Holy Ghost Fire, Trinity, Trinitarianism, Pentecostal Holiness, Holy Ghost Baptism, Speaking in Tongues, Glossalalia, Revival, Pentecostalism, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Word Aflame Press, Pentecostal Publishing House, Indiana Bible College, COGIC, C.O.G.I.C, Apostolic Bible Institute, G.T Haywood, Arroyo Seco, New Issue, Robert T.
