Persian Mughal Islamic Mosaic Motif Pattern Wooden Picture Frame

Description: This is a picture frame that has been in the family for a number of decades (I would say at least 50 years). From the recent research that I have done, I think that the frame decoration is of the Persian art form "Khatam micro mosaic marquetry". Some important dimensions of the picture frame are shown in the last image. Please note that in the past there would be several small "tack nails" that would secure the backing board of the picture. Now only one tack remains. (I removed the tack to take pictures and then gently tapped it back in again) Actually, the glass does not actually fall out because it is surprisingly secure in the frame and I did not remove it. However, the buyer would probably want to get new tacks and gently tap them into place so that the backing board cannot come off. Otherwise, the frame is in a very good condition. However, there are a few minor imperfections. So, please view the images and read the condition description (seller notes) to get a good idea of the condition of the picture frame. Many thanks. There are some areas of discolouration on the front border of the frame that possibly represent damage (or may be original). Basically, the design is lighter in these small areas. The most prominent examples are shown in images 7, 8, 9, and 10. There is some mild bashing to the back of the frame; see the fourth-from-last image. Only one of the original tacks (nails) remains in the back of the frame. So, the back board can fall off if the frame is held at certain angles."
