Description: THIS LOT CONTAINS THREE (3) STAMPS OF THE PACIFIC STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY FROM PERU,LISTED BY SCOTT, AND IN FINE-VERY FINE UNUSED CONDITION. The Scott catalog lists only two stamps from the Pacific Steam Navigation Co, the 1r blue and the 2r brown red, both engraved on blue imperforate unwatermarked paper. Scott also mentions that a series was also printed in various colors (we know of four), in denominations of 1r and 2r, on white paper, imperforate, both wove and laid paper (rare). These stamps are on white wove paper, are 1r denomination, three different colors, are engraved, the blue stamp has a back thin (not visible from the front) and no gum, others have partial original gum, have good margins, have been previously hinged, and are in fine-very fine unused condition. They are listed separately in our 1905 Bright's reference catalog as #5R, 6R and 7R -- Scott values them at $50.00 each.
