Description: This is a vintage painting of Isabella Brandt, Peter Paul Rubens first wife. This painting is absolutely beautiful. Even with the flaked paint. I cannot be positive this is Isabella Brandt since I do not know who painted her, but she matches the pictures I found on the web gallery of art site and the Getty photo stock picture. She shows the Flemish baroque look with the ruff or collar, the delicate veil by her ear, the tipped up hat above that, and the lowered hat on the other side, and fancy bodice and jacket. Her face is absolutely beautiful. This was probably painted sometime in the 20th century by the looks of the stretcher bars. I wasn't sure who this was when I found it but I knew it was a type of Flemish painting. I found the picture that I have also posted in the photos of Isabella Brandt in the honeysuckle garden. It looks exactly like her. Somebody has painted her in the past and there is quite a bit of crackquelure and missing paint as seen in my photos. The paint right now is not flaking off and is secure. I cannot tell if this is oil or if it is acrylic. The canvas is stapled on stretcher bars from Anco built frames from Glendale, New York. I believe the company was in business in the early 1900s and on. The canvas is unframed and measures 18" x 28 1/2" The canvas has no holes when I hold it up to the light, but there is missing paint as seen in my photos. Please also use my photos for description.
