Description: I’ve been collecting petrified wood for several decades. Now, as an old man who needs money, I’m selling some of my collection. This beautiful petrified wood specimen is from the Sonoma Volcanics Region of Northern California. The volcanic region was active up to 3.4 million years ago and for 10 million years before that. Volcanic activity created petrified Redwood trees, Oak trees, Cedars and more in the Sonoma County area. This piece measures 2.5" tall x 3.25" long and weighs 239 grams(.53lb.). It has a great quartz vein running clear through it and pleasing parallel layers. Great for gifts they make good paper weights and window sill decorations.
