Located some 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Harrogate and the same distance south of Ripon. The site is renowned for its amazing collection of weird and wonderful rock formations, sculpted over centuries by ice, wind and rain. Managed by the National Trust, the 450 acre area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Geological Conservation Review (GCR) site.
