Whilst the slide reads " made in Great Britain by J H T Ellerbeck of Liverpool " I believe they were the photographic developer and that these slides were taken by an amateur photographer. I would date them to the 1890's. The slide normally has a inner paper border and then the slide is then held together with edging paper.
