Description: Beautiful original vintage color lithograph by Pierre Jacquot (French Modernist, 1929-2009) showing a dazzling image of a young lady with two handsome black horses performing in a circus act, similar to the dreamlike style of Marc Chagall. This limited edition print is hand signed in the lower right margin, and hand numbered lower left. A Certificate of Authenticity from the Collector's Guild in New York can be found on the back, as seen in photos.Print image is 18"x13", and 28"x19" including the frame. Condition appears overall excellent; print itself is rich in color and appears very clean with no apparent fading or damage. Print has not been removed from the original frame. Matte has slight age tone and surface grime. Glass may be removed from frame before shipping at buyer's request. Original matting is dirty, would need to be replaced. PIERRE JACQUOT (French/ 1929-2009)Pierre Jacquot was born in Nancy in 1929. The art of Pierre Jacquot has a haunting edge of strangeness, as if he is looking either from or into a parallel dimension. This made Jacquot the perfect artist to illustrate the ambiguous prophecies of Nostradamus with original lithographs. These lithographs, with their mixture of symbols from astrology and the tarot with human figures and curious onlooking animals, are among Pierre Jacquot's most original and enigmatic works. We have one of just 22 signed suites of the Nostradamus lithographs on beautiful handmade Auvergne paper, and one of 77 unsigned suites on Arches. Pierre Jacquot was active in the group Les Graveurs Lorrains. Pierre Jacquot died in October 2009, in Grenade-sur-Garonne in the South-West of France.
