Description: Pioneer SA-9500 Integrated Amplifier For sale we have this gorgeous Pioneer SA-9500 Integrated amplifier. Physically the unit is in very good condition, with only some minor blemishes on the top edge of the faceplate. Also, as seen in the pictures, the top shrouds have some scratches and blemishes. Operationally the unit is in perfect working order. We thoroughly went through the amp on our workbench. We started with a visual inspection looking for any faulty components. The unit checked out with no signs of any bulging capacitors or damaged components. All pots and switches were then cleaned out and then treated with Deoxit F5 and D5 respectively. We then then ran the amp and it sounded very good, with all pots and switches making no noise or scratching when operated. Next up, we adjusted the Audio section to factory specifications following Pioneer's procedure in the service manual. After the adjustments, we ran the amp in our house system for the day playing numerous lp's on both phono sections, and we tested all the inputs. This amp is known to develop a turnoff pop with age, which this one developed. We addressed the issue in the protection circuit board by replacing the necessary transistor, cap and resistors. There is no turnoff pop when shutting down this unit. Truly a wonderful sounding integrated amp, with two nice phono sections. The Phono 2 input has a pot to adjust the impedance and another to vary the output level. There are 2 tape inputs, Tuner, 2 Aux, and a Mic input as well. Built like a tank, these units are just nice to look at, listen to, and just fun to play around with. The chunky volume, and source knobs, the toggle switches, we just can't get enough of them. This unit is from the golden age of Japanese receivers and amps. The next owner will be proud to have it in their system. Included in the sale is the original owners manual, and the original double box. The box has its original packing, but we will supplement it with polystyrene foam on all sided. Further, we will triple box the unit in order to help preserve the original boxes and for further protection to the amp. From Pioneer: Pioneer believes in music. And if you do, too, you'll find a faithful friend in the new SA-9500; one of the most musically minded pre/main stereo amplifiers we've engineered. It combines massive stereo output power with a delicacy of transparency; a rare blend in these days of lots of power at any cost. In other words, we haven't simply beefed up the power section at the expense of the tonal quality, frequency response or other aspects so important to the sound of a high fidelity component. The Pioneer SA-9500 does deliver an unusually large continuous power output of 80 watts per channel, min RMS at 8 ohms from 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz with no more than 0.1% total harmonic distortion, but it also ensures that even when operated at low volumes the performance retains a crisp, sparkling clarity. The dynamic response and reliability of the SA-9500 are matched with a flexibility of use you'll rarely find in this price range. Tone control versatility, for instance: both the bass and treble sections have 3-position turnover selection and there's a tone on/off switch for "flat" response at a touch. The 2-step high and low filters, the extra convenient tape duplicating switching system, multiple input source selection, 2-system speaker switching and much more mean first-class handling. We believe in music. And we're sure that if you do, too, you'll believe in the all-new SA-9500.
