Description: Plastic Man #4 DC Comics Silver Age, Win Mortimer & Carmine Infantino High Grade "Dr. Dome's Dame of Doom." Dr. Dome has a female criminal hypnotize Plastic Man into being her slave—script by Arnold Drake, art by Win Mortimer. Cover by Carmine Infantino. "Eel" O'Brian had been orphaned at a young age. Forced to grow up independently, he turned to a life of crime. He and his gang tried robbing the Crawford Chemical Works, but they were discovered by a guard who shot Eel. Eel stumbled into a batch of strange chemicals and went to a monastery before collapsing. The monks sensed good within him and hid him from the police. Eel was inspired by their faith in him and decided to reform. As a result of the chemicals he found, he made his body almost infinitely elastic. Using these abilities, he took on the identity of Plastic Man and became a superhero. Plastic Man, a somewhat silly crimefighter, first appeared in 1941's Police Comics #1. DC revived him in this 1960s series, which ran ten issues before suspending publication for over a decade. It then began again in 1976 for ten more issues. Plastic Man has also been a member of the All-Star Squadron and the Freedom Fighters.
