Using these abilities, he took on the identity of Plastic Man and became a superhero. Plastic Man, a somewhat silly crimefighter, first appeared in 1941's Police Comics #1. DC revived him in this 1960s series, which ran ten issues before suspending publication for over a decade. It then began again in 1976 for ten more issues. Plastic Man has also been a member of the All-Star Squadron and the Freedom Fighters.
