Hello, and welcome to my store! Up for sale here is an approx 1:32 - 1:35 scale figure of an Ankylosaurus (meaning "Fused Lizard"), made by Chinese company PNSO as part of their much lauded dinosaur figure series. This is figure number 13. This figure likely represents Ankylosaurus magniventris, among the largest and most well known species in the genus. They were known to have lived in what is now North America, during the very last part of the Cretaceous period, based on remains found in the Hell Creek Formation in Montana, the US, as well as the Scollard Formation in Alberta, Canada. Though no complete fossils have been found to date, it is known from several striking specimens, including a skull, as well as the massive tail club. They were among the very last plant-eating, non-avian dinosaurs...and certainly one of the most well protected! The body was thickly armoured in a likely strategy to defend against predation, and if that wasn't enough, the tail was tipped with a huge, mace-like tail club. Any predator would probably have had to think twice about taking one of these beasts in their prime - this weapon is believed to have been more than capable of breaking a large predatory theropod's legs! This figure is very detailed, with a dusty dry wash over a nice, pebbly hide of scales and thicker, distinct armour plates. It is posed mid-stride in a rather pleasing, leisurely stroll, head cocked as if curiously inspecting something that might have taken its fancy. This is one WIDE figure, and a joy to handle. It certainly captures just how corpulent these animals must have looked when they walked the Earth!
