The kit will allow you to mount Honda 250EX or 300EX shocks (stock or aftermarket) on your Polaris 90. You can also experiment with stock or aftermarket shocks from a Yamaha Blaster and many other ATV’s with shocks between 9 1/2 and 14 inches in length with 3/8” diameter (10mm) mounting holes. We do have a less expensive kit for the Polaris 90's that uses your stock shocks, but still widens the suspension three inches on each side. You can find it in our eBay store. We have found that Harley Sportster shocks make a great fit for the mini-quads. They are about 12 1/2" to 13 1/2" in length, with more shock travel, have greater mechanical adjustability than ATV shocks, and are softer for lighter riders. We have them in stock, and listed in our eBay store for $100 extra. If you have a Polaris Predator or Sportsman 90 and you are frustrated with its front suspension travel, this kit includes the parts that will allow you to go from the stiff 9.5" stock front shocks, to softer, adjustable 13" front shocks from a Honda 300ex (or many other shocks with a length between 9.5 and 14 inches). Owners of Honda 300ex quads are always selling their stock shocks on ebay to upgrade to aftermarket shocks or upgrading to 300ex or even 400ex long travel front ends. This makes these shocks available to us at a fraction of the cost of aftermarket shocks that are better than stock, but still limited in their travel to the original 9.5 inches. Our Honda TRX90 widening kit also includes a conversion kit for the rear shock. We have tried many different shocks on the rear of the Polaris 90's and frankly have not found anything that performs better than the stock shock. The rear shock on the Polaris is actually much better than the TRX90 rear shock and softer than anything else we have tried. We'll continue to look for low cost options to upgrade this rear shock, but for now we recommend aftermarket rear shocks from WORKS as an alternative. We also sell Custom Aluminum Rear Wheel Spacers for the Polaris 90 in our other ebay ads!!! Check them out, they are unlike any other spacers on the market!!! They provide +2 inches on each side, which matches up nicely with the +6 inch setting in the front because the rear starts out slightly wider than the front. This kit includes all of the front widening components to be able to use the stock a-arms that came with your Polaris 90 and move the pivot locations out 3 inches per side. The shock conversion kit to relocate the top shock mounts is also included to make this a complete package (all that is needed is the longer shocks to convert to a much improved suspension system). Finally a kit to allow us to make the Polaris 90 six inches wider and put some real suspension under it with the longer shocks. Also, if you have this kit, you could get the longer stroke after-market Honda 300ex or 250ex shocks from "WORKS" that can be specially valved for different riders. Most "WORKS" brand shocks can be re-valved even if you buy them used on eBay. INCLUDES STEEL TIE ROD EXTENSIONS TO MAKE THE KIT COMPLETE We have sold hundreds of our widening kits, and they ARE designed and used for the harsh conditions of motocross and GNCC racing. The unique design of the mount brackets allows the kit to bolt up to the ATV without removing any of the stock components, including the supports for the front fenders. Its difficult to see in the pictures, but the main "C" bracket that connects one side of the shock mounts to the other, is made up of two pieces of 1/4" thick steel for laminated strength. Again, this is designed for the enormous forces created by landing motocross jumps. - This kit requires no cutting or welding, and can be installed easily in an afternoon for a typical home mechanic. - Brake lines are long enough for the conversion. Returning to stock condition will typically take less than three hours. - Steel is precision cut with a LASER for accuracy. All brackets are 1/4" thick steel and bolt together for multiple thickness strength. - Four separate adjustment heights are available just by assembling the brackets differently. This, along with the spring adjustments you will have on the 300EX shocks (sold separately on eBay) will allow you to tune the suspension to your driving conditions (rough trails, jumps, etc.). This is important, everyone's driving habits are different (as well as the rider's weight) - we need to have as much adjustability in our suspension as possible. Most owners are unhappy with the stock performance of the Polaris 90 front suspension, especially for a small rider. Like other small ATV’s, the jarring nature of the stock suspension can cause young riders to sometimes lose control. This kit allows for much more suspension travel, and also makes the quad wider and more stable. - All the mounting hardware shown is included (shocks not included). The hardware uses nylon insert-collar lock nuts to resist vibration and prevent loosening of the assemblies. We've never had to retighten a piece of hardware on any of these kits even after running motocross races for months. All kits come powder coated gloss black. Color choice is not available, but other colors can be painted or powder coated by the customer over the gloss black finish. Kit components go through a seven stage chemical dip cleaning process, electro-statically dipped in black primer, baked, then powder coated and baked again to a super high-strength gloss-black finish.
