Author Biography Pengjun Zhao is a professor and Dean of the School of Urban Planning and Design, and a professor of the School of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University. He obtained his PhD degree and postdoctoral training in Spatial Planning at University of Groningen, the Netherlands. His research mostly focuses on sustainable transportation, travel demand management and spatial planning. He has more than 200 research outputs, including three English books and many articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, such as Transportation Research A, Transportation, Urban Studies, etc. He was ranked as one of Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier for Year 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 consecutively. He has obtained more than RMB 15 million of research grants as the Principle Investigator (PI) for 43 research projects which were funded by international and domestic organizations, such as EP7 (EU), EPSRC (UK), NSFC (CN), etc. He is now the Editor-in-Chief for Cities (Elsevier), a Department Associate of Department of Land Economy at Cambridge University, and the vice-chair of Transport and Geography Commission of the International Geographical Union.
