Description: Ca. 2017 gorgeous postcard shows a horizontal photograph of the main reading room in the Library of Congress Jefferson Building, the original building, constructed in 1897 in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill. The horizontal orientation shows off the many features of this reading room, including the center librarian's desk, the arrangement of desks in a circular pattern around the center desk, alcoves with subject matter reference books, bronze statues of men representing various fields of study, and stained glass above the alcoves. The photograph was taken by Carol Highsmith. The postcard measures approximately 6 inches x 4 inches. The back is divided. The UPC code is 21405107. There is also the reference number 15400.
