Yet it needs also to be said that the riffs throughout the album are memorable and hypnotic. Underneath the wash of white noise, guitar-driven melodies swirl like primeval forces of nature. And that is exactly what the authors of this remarkable set of songs wish the listener to feel. The only pity is that it is all ends too soon. Let's hope there is more of this stuff to come, because this Precambrian side project has a vital, bludgeoning yet oddly tranquil energy that transcends Saenko's other work of the last decade.
