Description: A gorgeous antique Victorian 18k yellow gold and 9k rose gold garnet solitaire ring, dating to circa 1880. This attractive antique Victorian ring has a solid 18k yellow gold band with a solid 9k rose gold head and shoulders, the ring with a beautiful 2/3 carat oval faceted bezel-set natural garnet which glows a glorious deep red with hints of pink, the garnet set in a closed gallery raised above alluring tri-split shoulders leading to a wide classic band-lovely! The ring is unmarked, the band tests for 18k gold and the head for 9k gold. The ring is approximately a size 7 1/2. The garnet measures approximately 7mm x 6.5mm x 2.6mm or about 2/3 carat. The band is about 3.4mm wide at the back. The ring rises about 3mm above the finger and weighs approximately 1.8 grams. The ring is in excellent condition with general light wear.
