Description: Beautiful and Old Majolica George Jones Acanthus Leaf and Overlapping Fish on Cover, Tray 8" x 7 3/4", Box 5 3/4" x 5" x 3 1/2"H approx. I have many art pottery/ art glass/ collectibles/ antiques/ majolica listed on eBay from time to time. We guarantee NO reproductions of any kind. Please click on "View seller's other auctions" underneath my user ID easthills to view them all. This is a nice & desirable majolica George Jones pink sardine box with acanthus leaf and overlapping fish on cover, circa 1875 according to the author of George Jones Ceramics 1861-1951, Robert Cluett, (page 63, figure 109) and valued from $3,300 to $4,125 in 1998. The sardine box and tray are in excellent condition as we did not find any chip, crack or repair. Like most antique majolica, it has some crazing and light discoloration. Please disregard the lighting glares. Thanks and good luck. Our Ref: 3494
