Description: Serving as Duke of Edinburgh from 1947 till his passing in April of 2021, we offer this 1973 Royal Tour of Canada portrait photo of Prince Philip that has been signed by His Royal Highness. Coming with great provenance, our consignor’s father was an RCMP officer and part of the escort team for the 1964 Royal Tour, assuming similar duties in 1973. A number of newspaper pictures and photos show him in function near the Queen and digital images of these will be forwarded to the winner of the lot. Measuring approx. 4 ½” x 5 ¾” the portrait image of the Duke is mounted on a backing measuring approx. 8” x 5 ½”. The photo remains in excellent condition, with only light wear seen, the backing also remains good, with light corner and edge wear present with light spotting also observed along with a small bit of paper loss in the lower left corner. The reverse shows wear of a similar style as well as stamp from “Anne Buckley Photography” with “5172-13” handwritten in pencil. Prince Philip has signed the bottom of the card, underneath his image with a bold black ink signature that displays without issue.
