Description: This is a 1996, made in the United States of America, Core Custom 24. I can confidently say that this is a collector grade example of a mid 90's Custom 24. It saw very light action in its first few years, and then was stored in it's case since 2001. Everything about this guitar exudes professional level performance and craftmanship expressed in every detail throughout. Mahogany and maple body with rosewood fretboard give it that perfect tonal balance and resonance that you will feel with every note you play. Full and easy access to all 24 frets without any encumbrance. HFS and Vintage Bass pick-ups. I personally love all PRS pick-ups; I think they have really nailed it across all their models. However, there is something about the fullness and resonance of their early HFS and Vintage Bass pickups that I find missing from their newer pick-ups, especially the 85/15's which do sound great, but feel like they are missing that tight low end that you get with the earlier pickups. The coil splitting on these pick-ups is also among the best I've experienced. The single coil split is full, round and dynamic without sounding thin, nasal, and just weak, like so many coil splits do. You will love every setting on this very versatile guitar, no question. Also, the retro rotary pick-up selector is just cool, and becomes second nature very quickly. As you can clearly see from the pictures, the finish and highly figured maple top are exquisite! If you're interested in this guitar just because of how beautiful it is, there's nothing wrong with that; it is a looker for sure. This finish is rather unique, it's a violet that, depending on the lighting, goes from a beautiful reddish violet on one end of the spectrum, in natural lighting, to an eye popping brilliant violet on the other end, when in sunlight or bright stage lights. In a typical room or fluorescent lighting it sits in the middle with a lovely purple hue violet. It is simply gorgeous in any setting. This one features the iconic bird inlays using very high quality abalone; no artificial material or corners cut here. My favorite aesthetic detail is the beautiful natural binding showing off the natural flame maple finish. It makes everything pop just right and takes it to that next level of class and craftmanship. This guitar is professionally set up and will arrive ready to play. Graphite nut, straight string pull, phase one locking tuners (which I love),and super tight gear ratios make for incredible tuning stability, which is a must for a professional instrument. You would think that would be a given for any instrument in this price range, but sadly we all know that is not always the case. That won't be an issue for you, however. Don't you just love when you pick up your guitar the next day and it's still in tune, or when you go from the green room to the stage and the tuning holds even though the temperature is drastically different (just a little pet peeve of mine.) Includes the original trem arm and OHSC. This guitar is the one for those looking for a high quality, truly professional instrument, that is beautifully crafted and will continue to hold it's value for generations to come.10% of this listings sale price is automatically donated to continue rescuing children from the horrendous reality of sex trafficking via the ongoing rescue operations conducted by the organization Operation Underground Railroad.
