Featured performers include Mirella Freni, Luciano Pavarotti, Elizabeth Harwood, Rolando Panerai, Nicolai Ghiaurov, Gianni Maffeo, Michel Senechal, and Gernot Pietsch, backed by the Chorus of the Deutsche Oper and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Album notes within the libretto (titled "The Fortunes of La Bohème") are in English, written by William Weaver. The text of the opera is presented in both the original Italian and English. Also included is the original London record catalog insert. The bottom left corner of the box is separated, and there is writing in the inner cover (top of Photo 3). The discs have several streaks and old handling marks, as well as a few audible scratches (most notably on Side 3).
